The process of purchasing a stair lift can seem endless. Many times our customers are overwhelmed with questions about the installation, reliability, cost, etc. Below are common questions we are asked when someone is looking to purchase a stair lift for them or a loved one.

How much will it cost? Can it fit my budget?
Typically, cost is a major factor when making a purchase like this. Most stair Lifts run between $2900-$3500 for a straight unit under 16 feet. Customers have previously heard the cost of a curved stair lift and believe all stair lifts will cost around $10,000-$15,000. Here at Chair Lifts and Ramps, we are happy to tell you that is not the average cost! We try to offer you the most cost-efficient price dependent on your stair case. Straight and double straight stair lifts are a much lower price point than a curved stair lift, however, we do have the capability of installing all three. Find your price today by providing us with pictures, measurement, or descriptions of your staircase!

How will this affect my staircase?
A lot of people are worried about whether they will have walking room left on their stairway after the installation of a stair lift. The stair lifts we install come with the ability to fold up and out of the way, allowing the staircase to be usable by others. The arms, seat, and foot rest fold up independently of one another. This will allow you to leave adequate amount of space for others!

How does the stair lift mount?
It is a common misconception that the the stair lift will mount to the wall. However, this is not true. The lift will actually mount to the tread of the stairs- not the wall. In doing so, there is minimal construction needed and can easily be removed and replaced when necessary. An average install of a straight unit takes under 2 hours.

Do they run on electricity?

No. They actually run on batteries and they have a cord that runs a trickle charge to the batteries at the top and bottom of the stairs. The cord plugs into a standard outlet so again there is no major construction that needs to be done.
